Enjoy the Michelin Green Guide Japan 1-star view. The city opens out like a miniature garden below, and it is a great vantage point from which you can see Otaru Port, Ishikari Bay, and on clear days, the Shokabetsu Federation and Shakotan Peninsula in the distance.
Otaru Tenguyama Ropeway/Observation Deck has been awarded one star in the Michelin Green Guide Japan.
The night view overlooking Mt. Tengu is spectacular. We also recommend viewing the night view while enjoying your meal from the mountaintop TENGUU CAFE.

It is a perfect night view spot that looks like jewels are scattered all over it.
Tenguyama, which offers a panoramic view of the city of Otaru, is a great night view spot that is called one of Hokkaido’s three major night views, along with Sapporo’s Mt. Moiwa and Mt. Hakodate.
The Netflix drama “Frist Love”, which was released in November 2022, was filmed with this spectacular view in the background, and it is attracting more attention than ever before.

The observatory’s symbol is the Tengu-zakura, a lone cherry tree that is over 100 years old, and offers the closest view of Otaru’s cityscape.
Also, next to Tenguzakura there is a “Happiness Square” where you can take pictures with heart-shaped illuminations.
It is a spot where you can enjoy the view of Otaru and feel happy at the same time.
There is also a wooden deck (TENGUU Terrace) where you can relax while looking at the scenery of Otaru.
