Naramachi Manyo Pottery Class:Nara

Manyo Pottery Class is held in an ordinary house in a corner of Naramachi. Are there a lot of cats in the neighborhood? But it’s quiet and you can enjoy pottery with a small group.

There are three courses in the experience class.
Electric potter’s wheel experience course
Hand-building experience course
Painting experience course

Electric potter’s wheel experience course

The most popular electric potter’s wheel experience course. You will create something on a rotating plate that rotates electrically. It’s super fun! Equipped with 12 electric potter’s wheels. A lot! You can use up to 3 kg of clay, so you can enjoy the electric potter’s wheel experience to your heart’s content. There are few electric potter’s wheel experiences where you can use so much clay. You will learn the craftsmanship! You will have a lot of fun.

Time:

Each session lasts about 90 minutes (including explanation time)

[What to bring and clothing]

Please let the people accompanying you know.
・It will get dirty, so wear a long apron (your feet get dirty more easily).
・Disposable aprons (30 yen each, small.
・It will be difficult to do this if your nails are too long.
・You may get dirty with dirt, so if you have long hair, please bring a hair clip.
・You will be working with your legs apart, so please avoid short skirts and wear pants.

Hand-made experience course

You will make tea bowls and teacups on a hand-cranked potter’s wheel.
