Taste Sanriku Iwate in landlocked Saitama
The owner, originally from Yamada-cho, Iwate Prefecture, wants more people across the country to know about the appeal of the local seafood and mountain produce.
With that in mind, he left his family’s sushi restaurant, the fourth generation owner of the restaurant,

In a residential area within walking distance of the nearest station, we have renovated a house to run an authentic sushi specialty restaurant. Since there is no noren hanging outside, it has the appearance of a hidden gem that only those in the know will know about. The interior of the restaurant, which only has six counter seats, is designed to give off a warm Japanese atmosphere. We operate in Omiya, valuing conversation so that customers can enjoy a sense of unity with the staff. We are particular about freshly caught seafood, including raw tuna, and use ingredients sourced from the owner’s hometown of Iwate Prefecture and seasonal ingredients purchased from Toyosu Market to provide dishes that can be called a feast.

Located about a 10-minute walk from the east exit of Omiya Station, where JR and Shinkansen lines run, this restaurant is like a hideaway, separated from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area, even though it is in the city. You can enjoy authentic sushi at your leisure in a private space. Reservations are required and private use is also available, so it is recommended for those who want to spend time without worrying about others. All seats are counter seats, and the open kitchen allows you to enjoy the excitement of watching the food being made up close.
