“Famous yakitori restaurant in Gifu
“Yakitori Mizuki” is located in Kanda-cho, Gifu City.
It has won Bib Gourmand, is a regular on the Tabelog Award and 100 Famous Restaurants, and is the only Yakitori restaurant in Gifu Prefecture to be selected.
There is a counter, a tatami room, and a private room, making the restaurant more like a Japanese restaurant than a yakitori restaurant. Although it has a luxurious feel, it does not have a formal atmosphere.
The chef is from the famous Japanese restaurant “Takada Hassho,” so there is no doubt that there will be other menu items besides skewers. ”

The owner, Junji Mizuki, trained at Chikame, a famous yakitori restaurant in Nagoya, after gaining experience at a famous restaurant in Gifu. In addition to his prestigious handling, skewers, and grilling techniques, he also has a reputation for connoisseurship of ingredients cultivated during his time as a Japanese chef. The chicken has a strong elasticity and flavor, and uses Shiga’s freshwater chicken. The charcoal grilling of seasonal vegetables is also a proud dish.

Since we purchase whole freshwater chicken and prepare it at our own store, we have not only the standard thighs and tsukune, but also rare parts such as matsuba (collarbone) and chikarahump. There are about 25 types of yakitori on the menu alone.

The freshwater chicken thighs have a pleasant crunch and just the right amount of fat. For the skewers, two grilling tables with different heat power are used to bring out the deliciousness of each part, and for example, in the case of tsukune and thighs, they are served with the aroma of charcoal.

Tomatoes grown at Hashimoto Farm in the neighboring town of Kakamigahara are grilled over charcoal and sprinkled with plenty of Parmigiano. The vegetable skewers and yakitori that have been added to these extra steps go perfectly with the wine that Mizuki himself tasted and chosen.

I sometimes hear gourmets say that there are no good yakitori restaurants in Nagoya.
That’s why people come here to eat. It can be said that this is the number one place in Tokai, Yakitori Mizuki. It has been selected as a Bib Gourmand by Michelin.

Chicken seared. It’s insanely tasty. The meat is delicious, but this sauce is a mix of ponzu sauce, shichimi, onion and garlic, and this sauce is very good. I felt that the vegetables grilled on the skewers were also more delicious than the vegetables I ate elsewhere.
